The new production of Swan Lake by Kenneth Greve, Artistic Director of the Finnish National Ballet, is a fresh yet tradition-conscious new interpretation. “I have never understood why the prince should fall in love with a bird. In my version, the prince meets Odette as a beautiful young woman”, Greve says.
Swan Lake’s music is by Tchaikovsky, and its modern choreographies are based on the version created by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov in 1895.
